Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!
I love this holiday!
It's unfortunate that with all the Blood initiation mess we can't really go out and feel safe.
I'm sure you've heard about all the murders, rapes, slashing and severe injuries being directed and inflicted on women and young girls this year.I think it's pussy but I guess thats the way world turns. This year I dressed as The Legendary GRACE JONES !!!!Yes Miss slave to the rythem her self!
She So ballsy and shes taken so many risks in fashion
I love her
And you know what ?
I really look a lot like her with all this make up on

At 2:00 in the morning I logged into to Aol and One of the News head lines read
"Feds Bust plot to Kill Obama"I read it again
I wasn't surprised that they were trying to kill him, to be honest I was expecting some attempts but i guess it's just hits harder when it's become a reality.
you can read the article here
Daniel Cowart: 20, of Bells, Tenn and Paul Schlesselman:18, of Helena-West Helena, Ark
They are both Neo-Nazi's,they said that they didn't think they'd get away with Killing Obama
but would die trying.WoW.
I mean I'm going to be honest,I was expecting some of these attempts but to see the reality of it blows mine.
Neo-Nazi's believe in the writings of the Bible and believe god could do know wrong. They believe that god made everyone in his image and that he is perfect. But in the same breath they'll tell you any culture/ethinicity outside of the Caucasian persuasion doesn't deserve to leave.
were lower than the dirt under their fee and need to die.

NOT!
you could kill Obama but there will somebody else waiting to take his place and another to take his and so forth.
Obama has done his part already everything else is icing on the cake.
He really made people pay attention to this election.
So many people got into the politics thing because of him.
He's inspired many and helped all of us to realize that if we want change we can have it.
He's exactly who we needed to help us understand how important it is for us to control of our future and present. We have more control than we've been led to think.

Lady bugs

Lady bugs are a sign of good luck to come right?
Well ,while driving home yesterday a lady bug manifested itself on the car window.
I rolled down the window to give it a chance to fly off but it stayed .
This little lady bug managed to stay latched onto that window even with the strong winds hitting it while we were on the highway.
I'm going on an audition tomorrow morning and it's really big.
It has the potential to change my entire life and you know what?
I'm not even nervous.I am extremely anxious about it all though.
I've typed up my resume and printed out my head shot and I've packed my bag and my lunch!
Now I just have to wake up tomorrow morning and go.
wish me luck!

Rockin

My friend Tim is a producer and he does a lot of his work at one of his friends studio.
He wanted me to record with him so me and Tata headed over to BK to go visit.
I'd been told by both Tata and Tim that his place was amazing but it wasn't until I actually saw it myself that I realized exactly how amazing it was.
It's this huge spacious loft with wall to wall bamboo flooring and the works!
I'm actually in love with it.
We stayed up till like 3:00 am talking and all that and It wasn't until I really got into a conversation with this guy did I realize how funny he was.
Now when I say funny I don't mean joke funny I mean Half Baked funny.
He's one of those guys that smoked a lot of shit growing up and is now that he's older he's reaping the affects.
It was so funny watching him try to complete a story or a sentence even.
And he's def in one ear so he never really hears what you said
You'll have said"Yeah I really like lilly's" and He'd be like"I'm sorry ,did you say somebody got kicked int he kidneys!"
LOL
But he 's mad cool and very hospitable.
He let us stay the night.
When I woke up in the morning the apartment looked even more beautiful with the morning lite beaming on it.I actually took a few pics but you don't get the full effect from them.
He let us use the studio and we recorded this rock song him and Tim had been working prior to our visit but they wanted a female voice so Tata got on it but she couldn't take her self seriously.
Lol
neither could we
I gave it a try ,I had to channel my inner rock goddess and It came out decent.
I just can't take listening to myself I just start laughing. Tata came back and recorded the Bridge and then it was time for us to do our riffs. Tim wanted to do his first but he needed suggestions so I gave them.. I was like you gotta Sing it like this
" Go on, Go on Move it RIGHT ALONG!!!!!!"

I was asking him to channel his inner Bruce springstein but it ended up sounding CRAZY.I hadn't laughed that hard in sooo long!
His attempt is burned in my memory and Now when I'm alone and forced to thin for longer than 5 minutes I bust out in laughter because out of nowhere I'll hear his voice like
" MOVE IT RIGHT ALONG!!!!"
If you all could have heard it you would have been in tears .
The whole day was full of moments like that.
Alex actually gave us an open invitation to come by whenever we're in the area.
I thought that was really nice of him.
We should be over there again soon maybe I'll actually be able to get a pic of him so you guys can get a better visual.

up

I'm home bored out of my mind ,I'd much rather be out with friends but you can have it all I guess.I've called everyone but of course everyone is busy thats how it always goes.
So now I'm forced to watch TV.
While channel surfing I came across a show I used to watch all the time as a child.
"Are you afraid of the dark"
At's a very fond memory of mine.I remember the opening was so scary to me.
It was really funny thinking of how scared I used to be because It's comedy to me now.
I know you guys remember it too and I thought it might my make you smile as hard as I did.
So from me to you :)

Love

Love was so much fun !
It always is but this time it was especially fun because I'd finally got to see a few poets and artist I'd been wanting to see for a while.
Aja Monet
(click photo for myspace music) Sciryl
(Click photo for myspace music)
Queen Godis
(click photo for myspace music)
Spoken Movement
(click photo for myspace music)The energy was high the vibe was right and the music and talent that was in there was Crazy.Sciryl,Aja Monet,Kesed,Akil Dasan, Queen Godis,Spoken Movement and of course Oveous Maximus the man behind it all fucked up the stage. Kesed hit us off with a few poems and his energy was amazing.
Akil dasan later joined him along with Sciryl for one of the newer poems
and a personal fav " Holding all the pain in your heart"Then Oveous hit the stage and his band was fucking dope! I got chills.
:)
Sciryl and Kesed jumped on stage
" no stems and seeds"
Blitz the ambassador came threw and said a few words.
Then Spoken Movement then came on the stage and gave a crazy performance .
Queen GODIS joined him for one of the songs and that was dope too! ( how many times am I going to use that word)
Towards th end he left the stage and came back with this costume on
" Rapper Man"
It was great fun!

This weekend was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time.I went and saw an excellent film," Miracle at St.Annas" a spike lee joint. He really out did his self with this one!
The landscapes and architecture accompanied by the phenomenal acting and soundtrack are what made this movie so amazing for me.If you haven't already seen it I really recommend you do.So during the movie when it reached the climax we started to talk a little bit you know the regular " Oh My god's and Yes's!!!" and this one chic that was sitting in front of us on the other side of the theater yells " CAN YOU PLEASE BE QUIET" were like "Woah alright".We didn't really say much for the remainder of the movie out of courtesy but let me tell you when the movie was over and we were all leaving she grilled all of us.
I laughed thinking to myself" wow she's really mad" but we'd left the theater so I didn't think to much else of it.While I was taking pictures of the marquee she'd come outside and confronted all of my friends.I didn't realize what was goign on, I thought they were in a cypher or something Because a lot of them are poets. It wasn't until I'd really gotten over to them that I'd realized it was the chick from the movie Telling us about how bad we made the entire black race look by behaving the way we did in the theater.
I was already over it!
It was clear to me that she was only worried that the Caucasian folk would look at her funny based on how we acted but I'm telling you were weren't even bad.
She tried to front and say that she was" concerned about us" but I knew better than that so I walked away arm and arm with Shar'dai and Cordial and Kesed left as well. Janine Kiara and Nay stayed and argued with her but came back for shortly after we left it was just funny!
Anyway we went to this really beautiful spot in the cut that had some delicious food! And the lemonade was the best fucking lemonade I'd ever tasted!
Thanks Janine!LolWe engaged in conversation and shared mad laughs I really had good time .We went to love and that was dope but I'll talk about that in the next post

Bucket List

Everybody has a list of things they'd like to do before they die right?
Well I do and one of the things on my list was to walk across the George Washington Bridge.Me and my girl Tata Khashigolinee actually just did it yesterday.
October 15, 2008 will go down in the books y'all as one of the most fulfilling days in my life.
Next time I'll do it in heels!
Lol
That'll just be one of those things I can bust out in a conversation.
" Walking In heels is second nature for me I actually just walked across the George Washington Bridge in a 4 inch pair the other day.. And I'm still Standing"
Lol
( pay me no mind when I say things like that)
Anyway the views as you can imagine were amazing and because it's fall the leaves of the tree's had hints of red and orange in them that just added all the more beauty to the landscape.
We actually stopped a few times to stair and look out at the water,it was really beautiful But was dangerous as hell too!
We almost got ran over I'd say 3 times by bicyclists pedaling through.
It was so funny because I kept looking back trying to make sure that it didn't happen and it happened 3 times!lol
We'll probably do it a lot more often now that we've realized it's not even that long of a walk.
Tata said It felt like 3 aves and I agree.
It was a beautiful day too I'm sure if we would have done it on a day the was much hotter or chillier we'd be singing a totally different tune.
